Reality is we live in a fast food wonderland and that isn't going to go away anytime soon. It is so easy to hit a drive thru with the busy schedules we keep. A lot of people are in such a rush they end up eating fast food at least once a day some up to three times a day.

 

At least half of those people are either on a diet, have been on a diet, or considering a diet. Unless you know the right choices to make while visiting your favorite meal on wheels you will soon lose interest in your dieting goal.

 

Here are a few tips if you need to keep the fast food flowing through your body but you want to lose weight.

 

The first thing you should do if you have to keep pumping fast food meals in your body is change your breakfast habits. Now a lot of fast food junkies don't eat breakfast so when it comes to lunch time even though your brain says small fries your mouth yells out large fries…large fries…I want large fries…please. So instead of skipping breakfast grab a meal bar high in fiber. You can get fiber one bars in the cereal isle of your favorite grocery store. Out of all the meal bars I have tried they are my favorite and they are cheaper then most. Depending on your weight try having two to be satisfied. The fiber will help keep you feeling full and regular.

 

Lunch time rolls around and it's time to hit your favorite drive thru. Here are some of my "what to order items" from a few of the most widely available fast food restaurants:

 

McDonalds

 

Put down the quarter pounder with cheese at a whopping 510 calories; order a cheese burger for 300 calories or a double cheese burger for 440 calories.  If you are a chicken sandwich person order the Southern style chicken sandwich only 400 calories verses the 630 in a crispy chicken club. Go for the small fries. Enjoy salads? Order the Caesar with grilled chicken for only 220 calories. The highest calorie count for any salad is 410 so any of those would be a good choice. Don't get a soda don't get diet soda, order an iced tea for zero calories, or order a Powerade mountain blast for lower calories.

 

Burger King

 

Whopper with cheese lover, I am but not for 770 calories! Order the whopper jr. for a slimmer 420 calories. What a difference, right! Better yet order a cheese burger for a lower 340 calories. For the chicken sandwich lovers order an Italian original chicken sandwich for 520 instead of an original chicken club for a large 690 calories. I would really stay away from the chicken sandwich altogether. Burger King has great salads in my opinion the best for a meal on wheels. The tendercrisp chicken salad is 420 calories and my personal favorite however the tendergrill chicken salad is much better at a low 240 calories. A small onion ring is 143 calories and a small fry is 229 go for the rings you know you want to. As for the drinks same goes, stay away from the sodas.

Taco Bell

 

Now this is a dieters dream. Taco bell has taken notice to the overweight world and decided to deliver the better choice. All I have to say about this is order it fresco style and you will not go wrong! The fresco menu is made for people watching calories. Most menu boards will tell you the calorie count in each fresco item. So head for the border and order some great fast diet food.

 

In conclusion you can still lose weight and keep that fast food loving feeling going strong. Now that you know a little more about what to order you can keep it in your diet and mold the rest of your diet around your fast food meal. Aim to keep your fast food meals 700 calories or lower depending on your weight loss goal.

We all love speed. We use microwaves, drive fast cars, use High Speed Internet and send packages with Federal Express. This goes for weight loss also. We want to lose weight today, so we can look good and get healthy by tomorrow.

Speed is not always a good thing. While a fast Internet connection will increase your productivity, fast weight loss is counter productive. I would compare weight loss to roasting a turkey. You could quickly cook your Thanksgiving turkey in the microwave, but slow roasting in the oven tastes much better.

Let’s Look at the Numbers

To lose four pounds in a week, you must create a weekly calorie deficit of 14,000 calories. That is 2,000 calories a day. The average person normally burns 2,000 calories a day. So, you could potentially not eat anything and lose four pounds a week.

However, if your daily caloric intake is less than 1,200 your body will go into starvation mode. This causes your metabolism to slow down and you will burn fewer calories.

Don’t be afraid or upset about feeling like that, it is perfectly normal and is how many people visualize themselves, and not just about weight issues either.

The trick is to change the way you view yourself, imagine if you saw yourself slim and dressed in clothing designed for thin people; the positive impact it would have on your goal of fast weight loss would be amazing. Your attitude and your mindset will either make or break your weight loss goals, and we will now look at ways to develop a positive mental attitude.

As you know, fast weight loss cannot be achieved overnight nor should you expect a sudden eureka type transformation of your mental attitude, so give yourself some time and allow these changes to be incorporated into your life slowly!

What you are doing is reinforcing your desire to lose weight by using a forced suggestion method as a trigger to stop you eating un-neccesarily or things you shouldn’t be eating.

2. Motivation and goal setting:

You need to set some realistic goals for yourself and in order to do that you will need to know what your ideal weight is for your height, you can do this by using a BMI Index chart which you can find here. Once you have your ideal weight you need to subtract your current weight from it and the remainder is what you need to lose. Now, if look to realistically lose no more than 2 pounds a week you need to divide the total weight you need to lose by 2 and you will have the number of weeks required to reach your ideal weight.

Once you have done this it is time to get motivated, and for this you again use your list of reasons. If for example the main reason is because of taunting you receive from colleagues at work why not do something drastic like having a bet with one of the main instigators or if it is because you want to have a figure similar to a celebrity you like, post pictures of that celebrity around your home with current pictures of yourself alongside. As stated motivation is about how you perceive yourself and if you can perceive yourself to be a winner, a fighter and thin you will be all three.

On a final note though, I know I mentioned that 2 pounds a week should be your expected weight loss each week, but there are fast weight loss plans that do work on a consistent basis and not just for the first two to three weeks, as is the case with most plans. Fast Weight Loss: Tips and Tricks From Spa Cuisine

Presentation is critical at a spa for several reasons. Garnishes take up space on the plate tricking you into thinking that there’s more food than there really is. If you’re creating an at home spa experience for a fast weight loss program, then do what the experts do and use garnishes.

Contrasts between colors and textures, say a glistening ruby red strawberry against juicy orange slices set off by a dark green curly kale leaf increases the appreciation of the food. Thinly sliced lemon slices alternating with springs of Italian parsley is another easy to do garnish. A radish rose offset by three cucumber slices is a pretty bouquet. Use your imagination when garnishing a plate.

The garnishes don’t have to be edible, although they shouldn’t be toxic of course. Raw kale with its dark green ruffled leaves makes a lovely garnish but in its raw state it’s too bitter to actually eat. Edible flowers make beautiful garnishes. A curled strand of lemon, grapefruit, or orange peal isn’t edible, unless you’re desperate, but does add scent from the essential oils in the peel and color to the plate.

Arrange the food artistically on the plate. For example: one chicken breast can be cut into three slices horizontally, or 6 slices vertically, and then overlapped on the plate. It looks like considerably more food. Place a fruit slice between each slice of chicken, or an herb sprig for even more color and appeal.

Whether it’s a crystal glass with a slice of lime on its rim, a soup bowl with a paprika sprinkle or a dinner plate with wreath of herbs, garnishes are a spa standby.

Use undersized plates when serving spa cuisine, a lunch plate and a small salad bowl instead of a large dinner plate. Use a contrasting charger, a large oversized plate, under the lunch plate for a look of luxury. The servings will look like more. In the same vein, serve courses. Garnish each course. An appetizer, salad, soup, and entree take longer to serve and eat than an entree with a cup of soup. Your stomach needs 20 minutes to signal your brain it’s full. If you serve an appetizer and then salad, by the time you’re finishing the soup, your tummy is saying you’ve had enough, so you won’t overdo on the entree. Keep portions tiny so you don’t overdo the amount of food you’re eating at the meal.

Take the time to use the good dishes, silverware and glasses. Seltzer water straight from the bottle is fine for slaking your thirst after a workout, but it is so much more elegant when served in a crystal glass and garnished with a mint sprig. And that’s another trick. Use herbs to flavor the water without adding calories. Don’t stick with just mint. Lavender adds a floral note, basil and tarragon add a taste of licorice. A cucumber slice with a bit of dill is a refreshing change from sweet beverages.

1. Spinning in a circle

Yes, this works. No, it’s not the typical type of exercise. It does very little as far as burning calories. That’s not where it’s power comes from. It comes from how it alters your hormones. Hormones are your secret weight loss weapon. If they’re balanced, you can lose weight at will. If they aren’t balanced, you’re going to have some major problems with losing weight.

So what I want you to do is spin around with your arms out and do this for 5-10 spins to start with. Get slightly dizzy. This will take a few practice spins to figure out the point of “slight dizziness”. Fine, do it and find out. Once you do, start spinning around at least 5 different times with that number of spins… daily.

This exercise is an Endocrine System exercise. What I mean by that is that it helps your Endocrine System out in being able to figure out how much and when to release hormones into your body. Kinda complicated, but the only way for you to see if it works or not is to do it. What are you waiting for?

2. Standing long jumps

Ok, you kinda know this one, but you didn’t realize it’s good for weight loss. To make this a weight loss exercise, do these jumps really fast. Jump as far as you can. Turn around and jump back to where you started. Do this for 1 minute non-stop. Rest 45 seconds and repeat for a total of 3 sets. This helps tone the legs, besides helping with weight loss.
